Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team looks to get back on the winning track, as the Flyers (10-2, 2-1 GLVC) welcome Maryville (7-5, 2-1 GLVC) to Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Jan. 10) afternoon for a 3 PM tip-off.
Live stats and video streaming of Saturday's contest can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. The game can also be heard on www.LewisFlyers.com and WJOL (1340 AM) with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network.

ALL-TIME SERIES - Since entering the Division II ranks, the series between Lewis and Maryville is tied at 2-apiece.

LAST TIME WE MET - Maryville used an 12-0 run over the final 2:37 of the second overtime to earn the 83-74 (2 OT) upset win over No. 17 Lewis on January 9, 2014. The win snapped the Flyers' 10-game winning streak.

LAST TIME OUT - Missouri-St. Louis shot 54.2% (26-for-48) from the field, 60.0% (9-for-15) from three-point range and 81.3% (26-for-32) from the free throw line on their way to the 87-83 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over No. 21 Lewis on Thursday (Jan. 8).

THE LAST TIME - Lewis guard Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) has recorded two double-doubles in his freshman campaign for the Flyers. He is the first Flyer rookie to record a double-double since his brother Marty Strus (2008-12) accomplished that feat in 2008.

SMOKIN' HOT - Lewis has won 39 of its last 49 contests dating back to the 2012-13 campaign for a winning percentage of .796.

RANKED SCHMANKED - Lewis has defeated at least one nationally-ranked Division II team in each of the last four seasons. The Flyers have not met a ranked team thus far in 2014-15.

TOP 10 - Senior guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield) (1,465 points) is in ninth place in school-history in career points. He needs 24 points to pass Al Latham (1957-61) for eighth-place.

1,000/700 ON THE HORIZON - Senior forward Julian Lewis (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) needs 114 points to reach 1,000 for his career and 82 more rebounds to become just the fourth Flyer in school history to notch at least 1,000 points and 700 rebounds in the Division II era.

WINNING WITH CLASS - Lewis' current senior class (2011) needs 10 wins to reach the most victories (75) by a Trost recruiting class, set by last year's seniors.

POUNDING THE GLASS - Lewis currently holds a +7.9 rebounding margin over their opponents through 12 games this season. That would be the highest rebounding margin of any Flyer team under Trost's tenure. The previous high under Trost was +4.2 in 2007-08.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN - Lewis has hit at least 10 three-pointers in three games this season. The Flyers needed the entire 2013-14 campaign to achieve that same feat. They are averaging 7.1 trifectas per game this season.

BENCH MOB - Lewis' bench is averaging 26.6 points and shooting 50.0% (120-for-240) from the field and 43.1% (44-for-102) from three-point range.

LESS IS MORE - The Flyers needed just 47 total field goal attempts to defeat Saginaw Valley State on November 20th. Lewis is 10-3 (.769) since 2012 when taking less than 50 shots in a contest.

TAKING THE LEAD - In Lewis' 10 wins this season, they have trailed just 8:59 out of a possible 400 minutes played.

POURING IN POINTS - Lewis has scored 90+ points twice this season in 10 contests. That's the most times the Flyers have reached the 90-point plateau since they did it three times during the 2011-12 campaign.

SIZEABLE VICTORIES - Lewis has had seven victories of 20+ points or more this season. That's the most since they won eight games by 20+ points or more during the 2003-04 season.

GETTING TO THE LINE - Lewis is 11-0 over the past three seasons when Jackson gets to the free throw line at least 10 times.

MID-RANGE JUMPER? - Lewis has scored just 66 points this season that have not been either a three-point FG, a FG in the paint or a free throw. Those points amount to just 6.8 percent of the Flyers' scoring this season.

POINTS IN THE PAINT - The Flyers have a decisive advantage down low, as Lewis is averaging 38.2 points-per-game in the paint to their opponents' 20.0.

WELCOME BACK - Lewis moved up two spots in the January 6th NABC/Division II Men's Basketball Caoches Poll to No. 21.

SOLID PROGRAM - Lewis is one of two schools in Division II that has both of their basketball teams ranked in the Top 25 along with Indiana (PA). The Lewis women's basketball team is ranked No. 2 in the country in the January 6th WBCA Division II poll.

REALLY SOLID PROGRAM - The combined winning percentage of the Lewis men's and women's basketball team's is .958 (23-1) - as of January 5th. It is the best in all of NCAA DI and NCAA DII, which covers more than 600 schools

SCORING IN BUNCHES - Lewis is averaging 80.3 points-per-game in 2014-15, which is the best scoring average by a Flyer team since they poured in 80.9 points-per-game in 1994-95.

AUSTRALIAN FOR BUCKETS - In his first career start, junior forward Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) recorded 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting and six rebounds against UMSL. Over the past four games, Foster is shooting 80% (16-for-20) from the floor and averaging 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds--per-game.

WE RESPOND WELL - Lewis has lost two in a row just three times dating back to the 2012-13 season
