Rolla, Mo. -
Missouri S&T junior Eduardo Abichabki and sophomore Felipe Andrade each recorded a goal and an assist, as the host Miners earned the 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the Lewis University men's soccer team at the Missouri S&T Soccer Field on Friday (Oct. 16) night.

"S&T took advantage of their opportunities tonight and they were able to finish," Lewis head men's soccer coach Evan Fiffles said.

With the victory, Missouri S&T improves to 8-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play, while the Flyers fall to 1-11-1 on the campaign and 1-9-1 in GLVC action.

Abichabki and Ryan Lawhead assisted on the Miners' first score, as Andrade beat Lewis senior goalkeeper Justin Salazar (Elburn, Ill./Hinckley Big Rock) from 25 yards out at the 28:16 mark. It was Abichabki's turn in the 64th minute, as he scored from the top of the box to extend Missouri S&T's advantage to 2-0.

Missouri S&T goalkeeper Nick Posey made two saves to earn the shutout for the Miners, while Salazar stopped two shots for the Flyers. The Miners outshot Lewis, 13-10, including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Oct. 18), as the Flyers head to Springfield, Mo., for a 2:30 PM kickoff against Drury.
