PDF ResultsROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Thanks to nine wins in 14 events, Lewis women's swimming opened the home portion of the 2015-16 schedule with a 156-106 win over conference-foe William Jewell on Friday (Oct. 23) at the Lewis Pool.
Senior
Shelby Leonard (Sarasota, Fla./Sarasota) had wins in the 50 back (27.51) and 100 free (53.32). Senior
Montana Clasby (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) won the 50 breast (32.31) and the 100 breast (1:09.09).
Junior
Kinsey Coble (Lafayette, Ind./Jefferson) swam the 50 free in a victorious time of 25.51. Junior
Kaitlyn Yearout (Ocala, Fla. /Trinity Catholic) swam the 100 back in 59.87, picking up a victory in the process. Sophomore
Shannon Sullivan (Elmhurst, Ill./York Community) won the 200 free (2:00.44).
Coble, freshman
Gabby Jeffers (South Bend, Ind./John Adams), Sullivan and Leonard combined to win the 200 free relay in 1:39.74.
Junior
Brittany Kamper (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg), Clasby, Leonard and Coble totaled a time of 1:51.14 in the 200 medley relay to earn the win in the first event of the meet.
"I was really happy with the performance tonight," Lewis head coach
Roger Karns said. "We had some women sitting out today and we handled the meet pretty well against a team that beat us last year at conference."
The Flyers return to the pool on Saturday in dual meet at Grand Valley State. The first event is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
