Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) combined for 62 points as the Flyers opened the 2015-16 campaign with an 88-71 regional victory over Cedarville in the opening game of the Don Callan Classic at the Callan Athletic Center on Friday (Nov. 13) night.
Nelson collected a career-high 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting, while knocking down a career-high nine free throws. Henshaw tied a career-high with 16 points, including a career-high tying four three-pointers. Strus notched a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds in the victory, while junior point guard
Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) pitched in 10 points and a game-high six assists.

Scott Trost said. "He played like a senior should and showed great leadership (tonight)."
With the victory, Lewis improves to 1-0, while the host Yellow Jackets drop to 0-1 on the campaign.
Cedarville freshman guard Kwenton Scott topped the Yellow Jackets with 17 points and three three-pointers, followed by 16 points and three treys from sophomore guard Patrick Bain. Junior guard J.C. Faubion (3 treys) finished with 13 points, while Junior forward Easton Bazzoli had 11 points and a team-best five rebounds and four assists.
As a team, Lewis shot 57.1% (32-for-56) from the field, including nine dunks. The Flyers shot 65.8% (27-for-41) from inside the three-point arc. Lewis' zone defense forced Cedarville to shoot from long range, as the Yellow Jackets went 9-for-32 from deep.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Nov. 14), as the Flyers square off with Davis & Elkins at 5 PM ET.
