Romeoville, Ill. -
The Lewis University men's basketball team opens its home slate on Wednesday (Nov. 18), as the Flyers (2-0) welcome Ferris State (2-0) to Neil Carey Arena for a 7 PM tip-off.
Live stats and video streaming of Wednesday's contest can be found at LewisFlyers.com. The game can also be heard on LewisFlyers.com and WJOL (1340 AM) with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT - Lewis' freshman trio of Frank Vukaj (Davison, Mich./Davison), Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) and Jake Reinhart (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) combined for 35 points in the 89-86 win over Davis & Elkins on Saturday (Nov. 14) at the Don Callan Classic, hosted by Cedarville. Vukaj had 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, followed by Blaylock (10 points, 2 treys) and Reinhart (3 treys, 9 points).

LAST TIME WE MET - In a game that featured 22 lead changes, it was Ferris State who had the last laugh, as the host Bulldogs held on for the 70-67 win over then No. 17 Lewis on November 22, 2014.

ALL-TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold an 11-5 advantage over Ferris State in their all-time series.

NON-CONFERENCE SLATE - Lewis is currently riding a seven-game winning streak against non-conference opponents, dating back to a 70-67 loss at the hands of Ferris State (Nov. 22, 2014).

RANKED SCHMANKED - Lewis has defeated at least one nationally-ranked Division II team in each of the last five seasons - including last season's 70-61 win over then No. 1 ranked Indianapolis.

TOUGH CROWD - Entering the season, Lewis has averaged over 20 wins in the last three years with 62 total victories. That would put them sixth overall among GLVC teams in total wins behind league leader and 2013 National Champion, Drury (80).

EFFICIENCY IS KEY - Lewis senior center Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) is currently third in school-history with a 61.9% (297-for-480) field goal percentage. He recorded a career-high 25 points in the win against Cedarville on Friday (Nov. 13).

WHO DO YOU GUARD? - In just two contests, Lewis has had seven different players score at least 10 points.

HOME LIDLIFTERS - Trost is 9-0 in home openers as the Flyers' head coach. Lewis has won its last 14 home openers dating back to a 65-60 overtime loss to Rockhurst on November 18, 2000.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR - Lewis sophomore swingman Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) was named the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman Of The Year after averaging 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds-per-game for the Flyers in 2014-15.

TOTALLY TO THE MAX - Strus was the highest scoring Flyer freshman since Lewis' All-Time Leading Scorer Larry Tucker registered 14.9 points-per-game in 1979-80.

HE'S A LEGACY - Strus is the brother of former Flyer standout Marty Strus (2008-12). Marty is Lewis' all-time leader in blocked shots (181).

ALL-AROUND GOOD GUY - Strus led the Flyers in points (19), rebounds (7) and assists (7) in the win against Davis & Elkins. That's the third time in his career that he has accomplished that feat.

FROM LONG RANGE - Junior guard Capel Henshaw (Harrisburg, Ill./Harrisburg) is currently third in school-history in career three-point FG%, as he has converted 45.0% (67-for-149) of his attempts.

TOURNAMENT TESTED - Lewis is the only team in the GLVC that has advanced to the GLVC Quarterfinals in each of the past nine seasons.

POSTSEASON ACCOLADES - Lewis has had at least one All-GLVC performer in each of Trost's nine seasons as a head coach.

SIMELTON SAYS - Lewis welcomes Division I transfer Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) to the squad. Simelton, a junior, played 62 games in two seasons for Lehigh.

DUNK YOU VERY MUCH - Lewis recorded nine slam dunks in the win against Cedarville. That is the most flushes in the Trost era since they had five against both Drury (2/12/15) and St. Francis (12/11/10).

BENCH MOB - Led by Henshaw's 15 points-per-game, the Lewis bench is outscoring its opponents 36.0 to 13.0 in just two contests. The Flyers outscored Davis & Elkins' bench, 42-2 on Saturday.
