PDF BoxROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis men's basketball never trailed in an 87-56 win over Roosevelt on Wednesday (Dec. 30) evening at Neil Carey Arena in a non-conference contest.
Lewis opened the game on a 14-3 run to take quick control of the contest over the NAIA member Lakers.
Freshman
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) finished with a career-high 22 points, making 8-of-13 from the floor. Sophomore
Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) added 19 points, five rebounds and four assists. Junior
Capel Henshaw (Harrisburg, Ill./Harrisburg) scored 11 points off the bench thanks to three 3-pointers.
Lewis held a 40-17 edge in points in the paint as 11 different Flyers recorded a basket in the game.
The Flyers shot 53.2 percent (33-of-62) while limiting Roosevelt to 32.1 percent (17-of-53) from the floor.
Roosevelt falls to 6-9 with the loss. Lewis improves to 9-2. The Flyers are at Saint Francis (IL) on Saturday in a 3 p.m. start.
