"Nothing went right for us in the first half," Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost said. "They were more aggressive and tougher than we were."

UIndy guards Eric Davidson and Joe Retic each hit three trifectas and finished with a team-best 17 points on the afternoon. Alex Etherington (15 points) and Jordan Loyd (11 points) both hit three treys as well for the Greyhounds.

With the win, UIndy improves to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in GLVC action, while the Flyers are now 6-2 on the campaign and 1-1 in conference play.

The Greyhounds' led by as many as 28 in the first half, but the Flyers battled to the end, getting as close as nine points in the final stanza.

"I was proud of the way we didn't quit," Trost said. "We fought our way back in, but we need to learn from this experience and bounce back for our next game."

Lewis sophomore swingman Max Strus (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) picked up his fifth double-double of the season with game-highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Flyer junior guard Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) had 13 points, followed by 12 points and seven boards from senior center Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North). Lewis freshman guard Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) had 11 points and six rebounds in the loss.
