No. 3 Lewis men's volleyball (8-1, 0-0 MIVA) opens Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play with a pair of matches at Grand Canyon (5-2, 0-0 MIVA) this weekend. Friday's (Feb. 6) first serve is set for 6 p.m. PT. Sunday (Feb. 8) will have a 2 p.m. PT start.
 
- Lewis is 12-0 all-time against Grand Canyon.

- Senior Geoff Powell (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) has started all seven matches he has played against Grand Canyon in his career and racked up 83 kills for a .305 hitting percentage.

- Bobby Walsh (Chicago, Ill./Mount Carmel) has started all five matches he has played against Grand Canyon in his career and owns a .524 hitting percentage against the Antelopes.
 
- The Flyers head to Phoenix, Arizona on a six-match win streak.
 
- A win on Friday would give Lewis a 9-1 start to the season. It would be the best record over the first 10 matches of the season to a Dan Friend coached Lewis team. Friend took over the program in 2004.
 
- The Flyers held Sacred Heart to a .029 hitting percentage on Jan. 31 with the help of 15 blocks, eight of those came from junior middle Bobby Walsh (Chicago, Ill./Mount Carmel).

- Lewis enters the week first in the nation in hitting percentage (.344), second in blocks (3.13) and ninth in assists (12.03).
