Plainfield, Ill. - The Lewis University men's tennis team opened its spring season with an 8-1 regional victory over Lake Superior State at the Five Star Tennis Center on Saturday (Feb. 7) evening.

Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) paired with senior
Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) for an 8-3 win over LSSU's Jake Prime and Mateusz Izycki in No. 1 doubles. In singles action, Levandi earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Izycki in No. 1 singles, while Aunapuu added a 6-0, 6-0 whitewash of Prime at No. 2.
  At No. 2 doubles, sophomore
Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka) and freshman
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) claimed the 8-1 victory over Ieuan Lister and Grant Link. Srdanovic added a 6-0, 6-3 win over Link at No. 3 singles, while Norasith defeated Lister, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4.
  Lewis sophomore
Chris Jastrab (Kaiserslautern, Germany/Kaiserslautern) added a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Hunter Koster in No. 5 singles, while junior
Tim Stewart (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) completed the 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 comeback win over TJ Myers at No. 6.
  Lewis returns to action on February 16
th, as they take on Walsh for a regional match-up. First serve is set for 9 PM at the Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield, Ill.
