"(By the middle of set two) we started getting the engine going both on offense and defense and started putting pressure from the service line which opened up our block defense," Lewis head coach
Dan Friend said. "We stepped on the gas all the way through the rest of match."
Walsh's seven blocks contributed to Lewis' 15 to 10.5 edge in blocks. All 15 blocks came in the final three sets as Lewis didn't record a single block in the opening frame that the Flyers lost by two points.
Lewis responded in the second with a seven-point win. The second set changed with Lewis up 16-15. The Flyers scored the next five points to take control thanks to two aces by senior

The third and fourth sets were all Lewis, with the lead changing hands only once. It was Fitterer's serving that ignited a 5-0 run in the third set to put Lewis up 17-10. The Flyers put away the Mastodons in the fourth with six consecutive points midway through the frame. The run turned a tie-game into a 12-6 Lewis lead.
