Evansville, Ind. -
The Lewis University men's tennis team got off to a slow start, as No. 25 Southern Indiana picked up all three doubles matches on their way to the 6-3 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the visiting Flyers at Wesselman's Park on Saturday (March 28) afternoon.

"It's disappointing to be down 0-3 after doubles," Lewis assistant men's tennis coach Uno Lapimaa said. "We need to learn from it and get ready for a tough weekend ahead."

With the win, Southern Indiana improves to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 8-5 on the campaign and 1-1 in GLVC action.

The Flyers managed all three of their victories from No. 1 through No. 3 singles.

Lewis senior Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win over USI's Jack Joyce at No. 1 singles. Levandi's classmate Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) downed USI's Samuel Kiladejo, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 2 singles, while Lewis sophomore Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka) defeated Anthony Van Rompay (6-2, 7-5) at No. 3 singles.

Lewis returns to action on Thursday (April 2), as the Flyers welcome Ferris State to the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex for a 1:30 PM first serve.
