Lewis Women's Swimming Loses Head To Head At William Jewell

Liberty, Mo. - Sunday (Dec. 4) Lewis University women's swim team traveled to William Jewell College for a head-to-head, but lost 144-118.

Despite the loss the Flyers had a good day, winning a number of events. The women won the 200 meter medley relay in 2:06.74, the team was made up of sophomore Gabby Jefers, junior Jackie Bower (Peoria, Ariz./Liberty)s, senior Kaitlyn Yearout (Ocala, Fla. /Trinity Catholic), and sophomore Emily Lagestee (Munster, Ind./Munster).

Individually Jeffers won the 100 meter backstroke, completing the race in 1:08.11. Senior Sarah Cameron (Brownstone, Mich./Carlson) won the 100 breaststroke finishing in 1:19.02. In the 50 freestyle senior Courtney Duy (Buckeye, Ariz./Millennium) won in 28.30, and freshman Emily Pickett (Surprise, Ariz./Willow Canyon) won the 100 free with a time of 1:02.23.

The Flyers will compete in the Indian River State Sprint Meet in Fort Pierce, Florida January 3 at 1 PM ET.
