Somers, Wis. - The Lewis University softball team dropped a 5-0 decision to UW-Parkside in the opening game of Monday's Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader, but rallied from a six-run deficit in the nightcap to tie the game up at 7-apiece at the Case Complex. Game Two was suspended due to darkness in the bottom of the seventh inning.
  UW-Parkside is now 4-25-1 on the campaign and 1-12-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers move to 15-17-1 on the season and 4-9-1 in conference play.
  Lewis returns to action on Saturday (April 2), as the Flyers head to the State Capital for a 12 PM GLVC doubleheader against Illinois Springfield.

  UW-Parkside junior pitcher Carly Dundee tossed a complete-game, five-hit shutout while fanning three batters, as the host Rangers earned the 5-0 GLVC victory over Lewis in the opening game of their twinbill.Â

Kaylee Prieto (Chicago, Ill./Marist) recorded two of the Flyer hits off of Dundee in a losing effort.
  Lewis starting pitcher
Lainie Schweickert (Peru, Ill./St. Bede Academy) took the loss for the Flyers, allowing four runs and six hits in 3.1 innings of work, while giving up five bases on balls. Two of those walks came around to score and another run was plated on a Schweickert wild pitch.

Carolyn Nojiri (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) was 2-for-3 with two RBI, including a solo home run to pace the Lewis offensive attack.
  With UW-Parkside leading 7-3 in the seventh inning, the Flyers scored four runs on fielders choice's by junior shortstop

Ali Brems (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside); a Ranger error and passed ball to even the score up at seven. Following the top of the seventh, the game was halted due to darkness.
