Despite four RBI and a three-run home run by junior designated player Dani Knaak (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook), Lewis was unable to overcome three Bellarmine homers of its own, as the Knights claimed the 5-4 win over the Flyers in Game One.

Knaak (2-for-3, 4 RBI, run) put the Flyers ahead in the first inning with her first career home run - a three-run shot, giving Lewis a 3-0 advantage.

Bellarmine responded with four unanswered runs, including solo blasts from Emily Knollman and Megan Bratz to take a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning.

That lead was short lived, as Knaak evened the score up at 4-apiece with a RBI single in the bottom of the sixth.

Bellarmine starting pitcher Ally Foster helped her own cause in the top of the seventh with a leadoff homer to put the Knights up for good at 5-4. Foster went the distance, allowing four runs - one earned - and four hits, while fanning six Lewis batters to earn the win.
