Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's soccer team exploded for six goals as the host Flyers earned the 6-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over McKendree at Lewis Stadium on Friday (Sept. 30) night.
It was the most goals scored by a Flyer team since Lewis defeated Kentucky Wesleyan, 7-0, on October 9, 2011.
With the win, Lewis improves to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in GLVC action, while the Bearcats drop to 2-2-2 on the campaign and 1-2-2 in conference play.

Nico Mueller (Braunschweig, Germany/Raabeschule Braunschweig) paced the Flyers with two goals, while sophomore forward
Christian Goushas (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) added a goal and an assist.
The Flyers also received scores from freshman midfielders
Timm Adler (Frankenthal Rheinland-Pfalz Germany/Karolinen-Gymnasium Frankenthal),
John Horstman (Godfrey, Ill./Marquette Catholic) and sophomore midfielder
Rogelio Delatorre (Lemont, Ill./Lemont).

Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Flossmoor-Homewood) made six saves to earn the shutout victory.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Oct. 2) for a 12 PM kickoff against Illinois Springfield at Lewis Stadium.
