St. Charles, Mo. - The No. 5 Lewis University men's volleyball team matched its season-high winning streak of six with the 25-21, 24-26, 25-16, 25-23 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association victory over Lindenwood at Hyland Arena on Thursday (March 2) night.
Lewis sophomore setter
Matt Yoshimoto (Ventura, Calif./Adolfo Camarillo) turned in an all-around performance for the Flyers against the Lions with eight kills, eight digs and 37 assists. The California native hit .538 (8 kills, 1 error, 13 attacks).
The Flyers received a double-double from senior outside hitter
Trevor Weiskircher (Loves Park, Ill./Boylan Catholic). Weiskircher collected a match-high 12 kills and 12 digs in the win.
With the victory, Lewis improves to 14-3 overall, while the Lions fall to 1-14 on the campaign.
As a team, Lewis hit .218 (50-21-133), while Lindenwood connected for a hitting percentage of .156 (44-23-135).
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (March 4), as the Flyers take on Quincy for a 2 PM first serve.
