Muncie, Ind. - The No. 7 Lewis University men's volleyball team clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament with the 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20 road victory over No. 13 Ball State at Worthen Arena on Thursday (April 6).

Mitch Perinar (Channahon, Ill./Minooka) racked up a match-high 16 kills, while hitting .333 (16 kills, 4 errors, 36 attacks).
Perinar and redshirt senior middle blocker
Jacob Schmiegelt (Lombard, Ill./Willowbrook) each collected a match-high eight block assists in the win. Lewis outblocked Ball State, 16-10.
With the win, Lewis improves to 21-6 on the campaign and 12-3 in MIVA action, while the host Cardinals drop to 17-9 on the season and 8-7 in conference play.

Ryan Coenen (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) picked up 15 kills and seven digs, while sophomore setter
Matt Yoshimoto (Ventura, Calif./Adolfo Camarillo) registered a double-double of 45 assists and 15 digs - both match highs.
As a team, Lewis hit .225 (51-22-129), while the Cardinals had a hitting percentage of .203 (51-25-128).
Lewis wraps up the regular-season on Saturday (April 8) with a 7 PM ET showdown with Fort Wayne.
