Romeoville, Ill. - The No. 3 Lewis University women's volleyball team defeated its third nationally-ranked opponent of the season, as the Flyers earned the 25-17, 25-23, 25-15 Great Lakes Valley Conference sweep over No. 25 Rockhurst at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Sept. 16).
The Flyers have also defeated No. 3 Nebraska Kearney (Sept. 3) and No. 8 Ferris State (Sept. 9).

Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) and senior middle hitter
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) combined for 37 of the Flyer kills. Rockhurst had 32 kills as a team.
Hyland had 15 kills and nine digs, while hitting .464 (15 kills, 2 errors, 28 attacks). Seliga garnered 12 kills and hit .500 (12-1-22), while Schneider had 10 putaways and hit .304 (10-3-23).
With the win, Lewis improves to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in GLVC action, while the Hawks fall to 7-3 on the campaign and 1-1 in conference play.

Ronni Katarzynski (Winfield, Ill./West Chicago) had a team-best 14 digs.
Lewis hit .343 (48-11-108) as a team, while Rockhurst hit .127 (32-19-102). The Flyers also enjoyed a 9-1 advantage in blocks, led by a match-high five block assists from sophomore middle hitter

Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 22), as the Flyers travel to Evansville, Ind., for a 7 PM showdown with Southern Indiana.
