Romeoville, Ill. – The Lewis University men's swim team lost to Grand Valley 130.5-74.5 in a dual meet Saturday (Oct. 20) at Lewis.
Guillaume Bolivard (Martinique, France/Lycee Centre Sud) won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle with times of 20.01 and 46.44, respectively.
The Flyers 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Yurii Kharko (Odessa, Ukraine),
Brock Star (Grandville, Mich./Grandville),
Jared Stigant (Edgemead, Cape Town/South African College Schools) and Bolivard won a thrilling race as Bolivard swam an anchor leg of 45.80 to overcome a one second deficit to win by one second.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Kharko came in second with a time of 21.03. Kharko also competed in the 100-yard freestyle and finished third.
Lewis' 400-yard medley relay which consisted of Diego Saez-Illobre Moliner, Helio Pereira,
Colin Williams (Elk Grove, Ill./Elk Grove), and
Jared Stigant (Edgemead, Cape Town/South African College Schools) finished in second place with a time of 3:31.15.
Lewis will travel to Bloomington, Ill. next Friday (Oct. 26) to compete in meets against Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan.
