Plainfield, Ill. - It was a dominant performance for the Lewis University men's tennis team Saturday (Feb. 17) in a nonconference match at Five Star Tennis Center as the Flyers topped Walsh 9-0.
The win moves the Flyers to 1-2 on the year, while Walsh falls to 4-3.
Singles winners for Lewis went to
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) at No. 1, 6-1, 6-3 over Vasily Vidmanov,
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia) at No. 2, 6-0, 6-2 over Filipp Kulynych,
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2 over Jonah Carter,
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) at No. 4, 6-2, 3-6, 11-9 over Rodrigo Garcia,
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) at No. 5, 6-3, 6-2 over Heitor Adegas, and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) at No. 6, 6-3, 6-3 over Guilherme Carneiro.
In doubles, the No. 1 tandem of Braschinsky and Lusti won 8-6 over Garcia and Vidmanov. The No. 2 pair of Norasith and Levitin beat Carneiro and Kulynych 8-5 and Stimpert Peterson took down Carter and Adegas at No. 3 doubles 8-4.
Next up for the Flyers is a trip to Wichita, Kansas, to take on Newman Saturday (Feb. 24) at 1 PM.
