ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's men's volleyball team begins Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association play this weekend hosting Lindenwood on Friday evening at 7 p.m. and Quincy on Saturday at 7 p.m. The matches mark the end of the eighth ranked Flyers (6-3) nine match home stand.

Lewis ran its winning streak to six in a row with a sweep of 13
th ranked USC last Friday. The Flyers won a marathon opening set over the Trojans 42-40 and then cruised to victories in sets two and three 25-17, 25-16.
Ryan Coenen (Franklin, WI/Franklin) led Lewis with 20 kills, with three service aces and hit .621 for the match. He recorded 10 of those kills in the opening. He was named the MIVA Offensive Player of the Week, Off the Block's Outside Hitter of the Week and the AVCA's National Player of the Week for his performance.
Mitch Perinar (Channahon, IL/Minooka) and
Tyler Mitchem (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) added 10 and nine kills respectively.
Matt Yoshimoto (Ventura, CA/Adolfo Camarillo) distributed 39 assists, had three service aces and finished with eight digs.
TJ Murray (Barrington, IL/Barrington) finished the match with five total blocks.
Coenen continues to lead the attack on the season averaging 3.70 kills per set and has served nine aces. Perinar is adding 2.45 kills/set and Mitchem is averaging 2.00 kills per set and leads the team with a .512 hitting percentage. Yoshimoto is dishing out 9.27 assists per set while Murray leads the team in blocking with 1.25 blocks per set and
Michael Simmons (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) is the leader along the back line with 2.22 digs per set.
ABOUT LINDENWOOD: The Lions enter Friday's contest with a record of 6-3, 1-1 MIVA after splitting a pair of matches at home this past weekend. They dropped a hard fought five set match against 10
th ranked Grand Canyon last Friday. They won two of the first three sets but were unable to get the upset dropping the last two sets 25-22 and 16-14.
Lindenwood bounced back on Saturday with a sweep of Lincoln Memorial (25-22, 25-19, 25-20). Michael Jennings led the Lions with 12 kills in the contest while Connor Hipelius hit .583 in the match with eight kills. Adam Brewster handed out 32 assists, Sam Schindler led the way with five blocks and Ryan Vorderer had 10 digs.
Jennings leads the team offensively with 3.36 kills per set while Charley Hlavin and Nathan Van Dellen are averaging 2.55 and 2.35 kills/respectively. Hipelius is hitting .423 for the season and Jennings has an attack percentage of .269. Brewster is dishing out 10.19 assists per set, Hipelius leads the way in blocking averaging 1.29 per set and Vorderer is averaging 2.74 digs per set.
ABOUT QUINCY: The Hawks are 8-3, 0-1 MIVA and have won six of their last seven heading into Friday night's match at Loyola. Last weekend, Quincy picked up a five set win over Lincoln Memorial and then swept Judson on Saturday afternoon.
Anthony Winter leads the team offensively with 3.36 kills per set while Shane McAdams is averaging 2.59 kills per set. Adam Rogan is handing out 7.23 assists per set, McAdams leads the way in blocking at 0.78 per set and Collin Merk is averaging 2.11 digs per set.
