PLAINFIELD, Ill. – Lewis' men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 contest against Ferris State on Saturday (Feb. 16) at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield, Ill. The Flyers, 2-2, won two of the three doubles matches to take the first point of the contest but the Bulldogs, 1-3, won four of six singles matches to pick up the victory.
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) went 2-0 on the evening. He teamed up with
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) at No. 1 doubles to defeat Steward Sell and Nur Ramdani Iswan 6-3. Lusti won his No. 2 singles match over Ramdani Iswan 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Benjamin Kasbeer (Lake Forest, Ill./Deerfield) and
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) defeated Cedric Rupa and Jack Seymour 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia) and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) lost to Pablo Munoz Baroja and Mathis Guerre 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
On the singles side, Braschinsky lost in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles. Ambrozic fell to Baroja 7-6 (8-7) and 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Pedja Trifunovic lost to Guerre 6-2, 6-3 in No. 4 singles.
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) defeated Connor Douglas in straight sets at No. 5 singles 7-5 (7-5), 7-5.
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) dropped the No. 6 singles match to Ayush Deswal 7-6 (7-5), 6-0.
Lewis returns to the courts next Friday traveling to Clinton Township, Mich., to take on Wayne State at 11 a.m. (CST).
