ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's tennis team swept Bellarmine 7-0 Friday (April 5) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference Match at Jack Oremus Tennis Complex. The win moved the Flyers to 7-3 overall, 2-0 in the GLVC, while the Knights fell to 4-11, 0-3 in GLVC.
The Flyers won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) beat Caleb Buckman and Sam Rueff 6-1 at No. 1,
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia) and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) beat Joseph Naville and Noah Neuhauser 6-1 at No. 2 and
Pedja Trifunovic () and
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) topped Evan Bottorff and Nick Johnson 7-5 at No. 3.
In singles it was Braschinsky winning 6-2, 6-3 over Buckman at No. 1, Lusti over Bottorff 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, Ambrozic over Michael Staff 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, Trifunovic over Rueff 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, Peterson over Naville 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and
Benjamin Kasbeer (Lake Forest, Ill./Deerfield) over Johnson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
Lewis is right back in action Saturday (April 6) when it hosts Indianapolis at 11 a.m.
