ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's men's tennis team had its five-match winning streak snapped in a 6-1 loss to No. 25 Indianapolis on Saturday at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex in Romeoville, Ill. The Flyers fall to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the GLVC while the Greyhounds improve to 11-5, 4-0 GLVC.
In singles action,
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) defeated Renato Lima 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles.
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) fell to Nils Hoffacker 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. In No. 3 singles play
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia) lost to Dario Huber 6-4, 6-3.
Pedja Trifunovic () was defeated by Magnus Mueller 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) fell to Ariel Farji 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles and
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) lost to Max Witthaus 6-3, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles competition, Braschinsky and Lusti defeated Matej Kostadinov and Huber 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Ambrozic and Peterson were defeated by Lima and Mueller at No. 2 doubles 6-1. Trifunovic and Levitin fell to Hoffacker and Witthaus 7-5 at No. 3 doubles.
The Flyers are back at home on Wednesday (April 10) taking on Illinois Springfield at 12 p.m. at the Oremus Tennis Complex.
