NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Lewis' men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Walsh at the North Canton Racquet Club in North Canton, Ohio on Friday evening. The Flyers fall to 0-2 while the Cavaliers improve to 2-3.
Walsh won two of the three doubles contests to take the first point of the match.
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) and
Pedja Trifunovic (Aleksandrovac, Serbia) fell to Clemens Wagner and Filipp Kulynych 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Earl Lim () and
Jeremy Charles () were beaten 6-1 by Guilherme Carneiro and Pedro Campos at No. 3 doubles.
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia/) and
Juan Martin Ramirez Meija () defeated Jakob Riglewski and Joao Campos 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.
The two sides split the six singles matches. Lusti defeated Dawson Drummond 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. In No. 3 singles action it was Ambrozic winning in straight sets over Wagner 6-3, 6-2 and Trifunovic defeated Alex Medina 7-6, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Ramirez was defeated by Riglewski 5-7, 3-6 at No. 1 singles. Lim fell to Kulyych 0-6, 0-6 in No. 5 singles play and Charles lost to Carneiro 0-6, 0-6 at No. 6 singles.
Lewis returns to the courts on Saturday (Feb. 8) taking on Findlay at 3 p.m. (CST) in Findlay, Ohio.
