ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference is continuing its series of segments with student-athletes within the conference with its "Someone to Listen" program, with Tuesday's (April 7) segment featuring Lewis senior women's tennis player
Tereza Pilzova (Prague, Czech Republic/).
Pilzova, a public relations/advertising major at Lewis, was 5-8 when the season ended abruptly. She was 4-7 in dual matches going 3-4 at No. 1 singles and 1-3 at No. 2 singles. Pilzova was also 6-5 in doubles action and 6-4 in dual matches. She was 2-0 with partner
Jovana Vujanic (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove), 2-1 with
Joie Reisch (La Grange Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township), 2-2 with
Agnes Florczyk (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg) and 0-2 with
Sophie Davis (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic).
The Flyers were in Florida on their Spring Break trip training when the announcement was made to cancel all winter and spring championships.
In the feature, Pilzova talks about her thoughts at the moment she and her teammates learned of what was first just a postponement and turned into a cancelation of the remainder of the season. She also reflects on her journey through college.
