Romeoville, Ill. – Lewis' women's swimming team picked up 11 event wins in its dual with Maryville on Friday (Jan. 22) evening at the Lewis Pool. The Flyers topped the Saints 145-64.
Senior
Stephanie Palczynski (Warrenville, IL/Wheaton Warrenville South High School) won the 100 back with a time of 1:00.13 and the 200 back (2:10.23). Sophomore
Erin Bachmeier (/) turned in a time of 1:09.21 to win the 100 breast and also added a win in the 50 free (25.57).
Senior
Ianthe Van Der Westhuizen (Randfontein, South Africa) turned in a performance of 2:05.04 to win the 200 free. Sophomore
Megan O'Brien (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) took the top spot in the 200 fly with a time of 2:22.26. Junior
Rachel Marsh (Houston, Texas/Mirabeau B. Lamar) was the winner in the 100 free (57.15), Freshman Melanie
Patterson won the 200 breast turning in a time of 2:37.35 and freshman
Larissa Alves (Panama/) won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:12.32.

Julia Lesnicki (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) teamed up for a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.15.

Cetta Senese (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) combined to pick up the win in the 400 free relay turning in a performance of 3:48.78.
The Flyers are back in the pool on Sunday (Jan. 24) at Olivet Nazarene in a 3 p.m. meet.
