ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced on Monday (Dec. 13) that Lewis University sophomore forward Kathryn Schmidt (Hampshire, Ill./Burlington Central) has been selected as the GLVC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 12.

This is her second career player of the week award and she was the last Flyer to earn the honor winning it last season on Jan. 11.

Schmidt matched her career-high with 26 points while pulling down 10 rebounds to lead Lewis to its second straight victory a 68-61 win at St. Francis last Thursday. She scored 21 of those 26 points in the first half on 7-of-11 shooting and grabbed five rebounds.

Schmidt shot 57 percent (8-for-14) from the field, was 3-of-5 from downtown and shot 70 percent at the foul line while also recording an assist and coming away with two steals.

Lewis returns to the court next Monday (Dec. 18) hosting No. 19 Grand Valley State at 2 p.m.
