ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's men's lacrosse team opens the home portion of its 2021 schedule on Saturday (Feb. 20) hosting Davenport at 3 p.m. at Lewis Stadium in Romeoville. Spectators will be allowed for Saturday's contest.
The Flyers (1-1) picked up their first win of the season this past Tuesday with a 13-4 win at Quincy.
Drew Kask (Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) led the offense with five goals and two assists for a total of seven points while
Talon Heath (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) aided the offense with four goals.
Josh Calvin (Scottsdale, Ariz./Notre Dame College Prepatory HS) stopped nine of the 13 shots he faced in goal and
Peter Carlson (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville South) won six faceoffs and picked up six ground balls.
The Panthers (0-2) enter Saturday's contest having dropped both of their contests to ranked teams. They opened the season with a 16-8 loss at Rockhurst on Feb. 7 and this past Sunday fell to Lindenwood 15-6.
Austin Thompson leads Davenport with four goals while Jordan Caskenette leads the team in points with five (2 goals, three assists). James Johnston and Adam Smellie have each scored two goals. Connor Foster has won 10 faceoffs through the first two games while Daniel Milano has stopped 35 of 110 shots faced and is the team leader with 13 ground ball pickups.
Saturday's contest is the second all-time meeting between the two schools with Lewis winning the first contest 13-6 last season at Lewis Stadium.
