ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's fourth ranked men's volleyball team begins its quest for a second straight Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association postseason title this Saturday (April 10) hosting Quincy at 7 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena.
Fans will be allowed for Saturday evening's contest but will be limited to guests of rostered players only.
The Flyers (17-2, 12-2 MIVA) won both regular season matches this season against the Hawks (5-12, 2-12 MIVA). It is the fifth time in MIVA Tournament history that the two teams will face off, with the last time coming in 2019 at Neil Carey which was won by Lewis 3-0.
Against the Hawks this season,
Ryan Coenen (Franklin, WI/Franklin) led the way with 29 kills in six sets and
Kyle Bugee (Cupertino, Calif./Homestead) is second with 17 kills.
Tyler Mitchem (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook HS) totaled eight blocks and Coenen tallied 14 digs.
Kevin Kauling (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) averaged 10.83 digs per set in the two matches against Quincy.
The winner of Saturday's match will face the winner fifth seeded Ohio State against fourth seeded Ball State on Saturday, April 14. The lower seed will travel to play at the higher seed in that contest.
