ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University Director of Bowling
Scott Taylor announced Thursday (August 4) the signing of four members for the 2022-23 season: Michelle Baeza, Allie Dague, Estelle Ryan and Katharine Svehla.

Baeza, a sonography tech major from Morton East High School, has bowled competitively for three years. As a senior she placed second at regionals with a 1,151 total pinfall and was fifth at sectionals with a 1,173 over six games, helping her team finish second at both regionals and sectionals.

At state Baeza rolled a 277 on day one en route to a 201.5 average to sit in 17
th place for the day. She finished the tournament in 55
th place with a 185 average and had a 180 average during conference play.

Dague, a Lincoln-Way West graduate, is a planned biology major. She spent four years at the varsity level, improving her average by nearly 40 pins throughout her career.

As a senior she averaged a 175 with seven medals earned Her 286 high game and 1,229 high six-game series at regionals helped the Warriors finish in second place.

Ryan, a Memphis, Tennessee native, bowled for three years at Saint Agnes Academy. The Aviation Flight Technology major finished third in Division II bowling in Tennessee as a junior and was the second place regional winner as a senior and 10
th in the state and made the Memphis area All-Metro Girls Bowling Team.

The team finished as the region runner-up her senior year, finishing third in the state after a fourth-place finish in her junior year.

Svehla, a business and creative writing major, is a graduate of York High School. She improved her average by more than 40 pins from her sophomore to junior season, where she finished in the top 10 in her conference, averaging a 185.

In her senior season she finished third in the state of Illinois, averaging a 215.6 for 12 games and helping the Dukes place fifth in the state. She placed second at regionals as the team won both regionals and sectionals. She averaged a 203 in conference play and earned second in conference overall. She shot a 1,225 at Strikefest to place third, the largest tournament in the state with 44 teams.
