ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis men's volleyball team is set to compete in a pair of matches this weekend on the road to start Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) play against No. 9 Ball State and No. 11 Ohio State. Be sure to catch all the action Thursday and Saturday.

Series History vs. Ball State
The series between Lewis and Ball State is almost even with the Cardinals ahead 35-34. Ball State has won the last three meetings which all occurred last season including their most recent meeting on April 20 where the Cardinals picked up the victory. Kevin Kauling (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) led the way for Lewis with 24 assists. 

Series History vs. Ohio State
Ohio State leads the all-time series, 37-27, between both programs. The Flyers won the most recent meeting in the MIVA Tournament a season ago after recording a reverse sweep on the Buckeyes on April 16, 2022. 

Lewis was led by John Davis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central), who recorded 16 kills. Christian Prayer (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) also recorded 15 kills while Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) picked up 10. Kauling recorded a team high 50 assists. 

Last Week in Review
Lewis went 1-1 last week after the Flyers lost to George Mason on Friday before bouncing back and defeating Mount Olive on Saturday. The Flyers were led by Prayer, who had 10 kills in the victory over the Trojans.

NVA/AVCA Men's National Coaches Poll 
Ball State is currently ranked No. 9 while Ohio State is ranked No. 11 in the latest 2023 NVA/AVCA Men's National Collegiate Coaches Poll for February 6. Lewis is receiving votes in the poll this week.
