ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University baseball team defeated Trinity Christian 9-3 Wednesday (April 19) at Brennan Field in a nonconference contest.

SUMMARY
The Flyers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when
Tony Fleischauer (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) hit a three-run home run to center, scoring
Kevin Barry (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) and
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly).
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) made it a 4-0 lead in the second with a single to right field, scoring
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita).
The Trolls came back with two runs in the bottom of the third inning, but Lewis answered with three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. McDevitt had a RBI single that scored Fleischauer,
Jack Blazevich (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) hit a sacrifice fly to score
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) and
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) doubled to score McDevitt.
Alt made it 8-2 in the sixth inning with a RBI single that score Headrick, while a Barry home run in the seventh made it 9-2. Trinity Christian added a run in the eighth inning to make the score 9-3.
Headrick finished the game with three hits, while Fleischauer had three RBI.
AJ Casmer (Lisle, Ill./Lisle) (3-0) went two innings in relief, allowing no hits and no runs to pick up the win, while
Kyle Hussey (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) earned his first save with three innings of relief, allowing one earned run on three hits.
