INDIANAPOLIS -- The Lewis University men's basketball team was voted to finish the upcoming season in fourth place in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Coaches Poll. The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
Truman State(1), Illinois Springfield(2) and William Jewell(3) took the three spots above the Flyers, with Upper Iowa(5) coming in narrowly behind them. Lewis did not receive any first place votes in this years voting.
The Flyers finished with a 12-8 conference record last season with a run to the GLVC Tournament Finals, finishing with a loss to William Jewell.
Lewis is led once again by head coach
Scott Trost as the Flyers start their season on October 26th in an exhibition contest against Illinois State University. The Flyers begin conference play on December 2nd as they take on the Indianapolis Greyhounds.
