ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University baseball team defeated Roosevelt 11-1 in seven innings during a non-conference contest at Brennan Field Wednesday (April 17).

GAME SUMMARY
Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) started the scoring with a solo home run, his 11th of the season, to make it 1-0 in the first inning. Lewis extended its lead with two more runs in the same inning after
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) walked and
Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic) connected on his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot to right to make it 3-0.
Lewis came back with a pair of runs in the second inning to extend its lead to 5-0.
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) hit his fifth home run with a solo blast to right to make it 4-0.
Fox made it 5-0 after scoring on a throwing error by the pitcher via pick-off. The next inning, Fox hit his second home run of the contest with a three-run round tripper to deep center to make it 8-0.
The Flyers extended the lead by adding two more runs in the fourth inning.
John Henry Russell (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) reached on a fielder's choice which scored
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) to make it 9-0. Keaty reached on a Roosevelt miscue which scored
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) and brought the lead to 10-0.
Roosevelt got one run back in the top of the fifth to cut it down to 10-1. Lewis was able to win it via run-rule in the bottom of the seventh after
Ryne Meriel (Niles, Ill./Carmel Catholic) hit an RBI double to left field which scored Fox for the winning run.
