ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The No. 13 Lewis University men's volleyball team picked up its second straight victory Saturday (Jan. 25) as the Flyers swept Missouri S&T Saturday.

SET BREAKDOWN
SET 1: Lewis 25, Missouri S&T 9
Lewis had complete control of the set from the start. The Flyers jumped out to an early 9-1 lead after a block from Wymoczyl and Roquet.
Missouri S&T tried to get back in the set with back-to-back points to make it 13-5 Lewis. The Flyers proceeded to score four straight capped by a kill from Haber to make it 17-5.
The Flyers closed out the set after winning the last three points including kills from Wymoczyl and Haber. Lewis went up 1-0 after taking the set 25-9.
SET 2: Lewis 25, Missouri S&T 18
Missouri S&T jumped out to an early 6-3 lead looking to tie the match at 1-1. Lewis rallied for four straight points off three kills for a 7-6 lead.
The Miners scored the next point to tie it but then it was all Flyers. Lewis got three straight points including a pair of kills from
Oguzhan Oguz (Bursa, Turkey/Ocean).
Lewis kept building its lead throughout the set but the closest S&T got was 14-12 in favor of the Flyers. The Flyers put the game out of each after another three points in a row to make it 17-12.
The Flyers closed out the second set 11-6 to go up 2-0.
SET 3: Lewis 25, Missouri S&T 17
Missouri S&T recorded a 8-7 lead early before Lewis rallied off five straight points to grab a 12-8 advantage. The Miners made it a three-point set but the Flyers took control of the set.
A pair of kills by Roquet and Oguz put Lewis up 20-14 late in the set. The Miners got the next point before Lewis closed it out with five out of the next eight to win it 25-17 and the match 3-0.

Lewis will be back in action Friday, January 31 as the Flyers travel to University of California-Santa Barbara starting at 7 p.m. CT.
