The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Four Flyers earned the honor this season.
Elena Gubera (Jamestown, Ind./Western Boone),
Emma O'Neill (Papillion, Neb./Papillion La Vista South),
Lauren Buxton (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) and
Sarah Newberry (Fairfield, Ohio/Stephen T Badin) each earned the honor for Lewis this year. For O'Neill, it is the second time in her career she earned the award, having previously been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2023. It marks the first time Gubera, Newberry and Buxton have been selected for the accolade.
As a whole, the GLVC had 43 student-athletes named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Team. Lewis, Illinois Springfield, Maryville, Missouri-St. Louis, Quincy, Rockhurst, Truman State, and Upper Iowa all had four honorees, while Drury, Indianapolis, and Missouri S&T each had three players featured, and William Jewell rounded out the list with two selections. Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
