Lewis Women's Swimming Finish 4th & Men's Place 5th at The 2025 GLVC Championships

Elkhart, Ind. -- The Lewis women's and men's swimming teams closed out the GLVC Championships with a fourth place finish by the women's team and a fifth place finish by the men's team.

"I am thrilled by our performance with such a young team to maintain our competitive edge in the GLVC. We now have 5 school records, over 40 NCAA B cuts, and too many best times to count this year. We head into nationals to show that the future is bright for Lewis Swimming."

The Flyers ended the GLVC Championships on a high note earning their second bronze medal in the men's relay. Yesterday it was the 200 yard freestyle relay and today it was the 400 yard freestyle relay. The men's relay team consisted of Matt Howard (Tamarin, Mauritius/Westcoast International), Tom Thalau (Stuttgart, Germany/Wirtemberg-Gymnasium), Nico Jacinto (Caloocan, Philippines/Texas A&M University) and Mahmoud Abdelkarim (Cairo, Egypt/Modern English School Cairo).

The women's team had three top six finishes in the 1650 yard freestyle, 200 yard backstroke, and the 400 yard freestyle relay. Dominique Dingshoff (Hoogeveen, Netherlands/Roelof Van Echten College) finished in sixth place in the 1650 yard freestyle, Amelia Marsicek (Centennial, Colo./Regis Jesuit) finished in sixth place in the 200 yard backstroke and the relay team of Morgan Vis (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West), Marsicek, Larissa Bueno Alves (Brazil, Panama/Colegio De La Salle) and Maria Kretosz (Katowice, Poland/AWF Katowice) finished in sixth place.
