ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Lewis University softball team was victorious in both contests on Sunday (Feb. 16) as the Flyers swept Roosevelt 7-0 in each game at the Rosemont Dome.

Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) singled home
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) in the first inning.
The Flyers doubled their lead in the next inning after
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) recorded an infield single, scoring
Mackenzie Sheehan (Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove) to make it 2-0.
Erica Hoffman (Hebron, IN/Boone Grove High School) extended the Lewis lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning after her RBI single scored
Kristen Graham (Mapleton, IL/Illini Bluffs High School). Sheehan added another run in the same frame making it 4-0 with a RBI single scoring Hoffman.
Lewis was not done as the Flyers put up a three spot in the sixth frame. Graham reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Garden which extended it out to 5-0.
Frafjord made it 7-0 after ripping a two-run double to left center, scoring Graham and Magdziasz.
Garden (2-3) recorded the win after pitching a complete game shutout, throwing all seven innings, allowing only one hit, issuing one walk and striking out 10.

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out with a four-spot in the opening inning to take an early 4-0 lead.
Ariana Trausch (Elk Grove Village, IL/Elk Grove High School) singled through the left side which scored Garden to make it 1-0. Frafjord made it 4-0 after a three-run shot over the left-center wall, scoring Trausch, Magdziasz and herself.
Lewis extended it out to 6-0 with a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Frafjord made it 5-0 after her RBI single through the right side scored Graham from second.
There was a double steal which scored Trausch and Frafjord stole second extending it to 6-0 in favor of the Flyers.
Graham picked up an RBI in the sixth inning after being hit by the pitch which made it 7-0 after
Sofia Dziuba (Minooka, IL/Minooka Community High School) scored from third.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (2-1) picked up the win after pitching all seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits, issuing two walks and striking out four.

Lewis will be back in action Thursday, February 20 as the Flyers take on Bemidji State at 6 p.m. CT then Minnesota-Duluth at 8 p.m. CT.
