ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The No. 13 Lewis University men's volleyball team rallied to defeat Quincy 3-2 Friday.
Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) broke the school record for digs in a match at Lewis after he recorded 22.

SET BREAKDOWN
SET 1: Lewis 25, Quincy 19
Lewis jumped out to an early 4-1 lead to start the contest. Moments later, the Flyers had back-to-back kills from Roquet and Wymoczyl to extend the lead to 14-11.
The Hawks made it as close as 20-18 Lewis. The Flyers closed out the set on a 5-1 run which was started by a kill from Roquet to win it 25-19.
SET 2: Quincy 25, Lewis 15
Both teams each scored five points to begin the set which made it 5-5. Quincy proceeded to score the next five to grab a 10-5 advantage.
Lewis looked to get back in the set after three straight points including back-to-back kills from Oguz and a block from Krueger-Beer which made it 10-8 Hawks. Oguz made it 11-9 in favor of Quincy but that was the closest the Flyers got all set.
Roquet made it 18-14 then Quincy proceeded to score six straight points to force set point. Oguz recorded the next point via kill then the Hawks won it with the next point with a kill of their own.
SET 3: Quincy 25, Lewis 23
Both teams each scored four points to begin the set. Quincy and Lewis then proceeded to each score a pair of points a couple times to make it 9-9.
Moments later, Quincy went up 15-12 then the Flyers recorded back-to-back points to make it 15-14. The Hawks rallied again for five straight points to make it 19-14.
Lewis had the answer again after scoring four straight after back-to-back service aces by Roquet which made it 19-18. The Hawks had one last push after recording three in a row to make it 22-19.
The Flyers were able to rally and tie at 23-23. Quincy was able to record back-to-back points to win the set 25-23 and go up 2-1.
SET 4: Lewis 25, Quincy 23
Both teams were tied 7-7 after 14 points scored then the Hawks went on to score three straight which gave them a 10-7 lead. Moments later after Quincy led 13-9, Lewis went on to score six straight making it 15-13 in favor of the Flyers.
Quincy did not give up as the Hawks scored six in a row of their own for a 19-15 advantage. Lewis fought back as well with a 5-1 run capped off by a kill by Roquet to tie it 20-20.
Both teams traded three points each before Lewis got back-to-back points after attack errors by the Hawks. The Flyers forced a fifth set after winning the fourth 25-23.
SET 5: Lewis 15, Quincy 13
It went back-and-forth to start the winner-take-all fifth set. Lewis proceeded to score three straight including a pair of blocks from Oguz and one from Shawn Baggs then both teams switched sides.
Quincy cut into the deficit and made it 10-9 in favor of Lewis. The Flyers got back on track after a kill from Krueger-Beer and an ace from
Daniel Haber (Remsenburg, NY/Westhampton Beach).
Quincy was able to make it as close as 14-13 late in the set. Lewis recorded the next point after a block from Baggs, Roquet and Oguz and won the set 15-13 and the match 3-2.
