CINCINNATI, OHIO -- The Lewis University baseball team played Findlay for a doubleheader Monday (Feb. 24) at Hayden Field on the campus of Xavier University. The Oilers took game one 3-2 then won the second 2-0.

Lewis jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after
Blake Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Plainfield South) hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie).
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) extended the lead to 2-0 the next frame with a sacrifice fly of his own to centerfield, scoring
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita).
Findlay responded with a pair of runs of their own in the sixth inning, making it 2-2.
Neither teams scored in the seventh, eighth, ninth inning and both teams went to extra innings. No one scored in inning No. 10 as well.
The Oilers drove home the go-ahead run in the top of the 11
th with a solo shot to left.
Lewis starter
Brendan Lawry (Bolingbrook, Ill./Eckerd College) took no decision after throwing five scoreless and hitless innings, walking two and striking out seven.
Collin Amsden (Oak Forest, Ill./Marist) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing three hits, issuing one walk and striking out one.

Abraham Sanchez (San Diego, CA/Monte Vista High School) suffered the loss (0-1) after hurling four innings, allowing four hits, giving up one run and striking out six.
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill./UNC-Pembroke) led the Flyers on offense after the senior went 2-3 at the plate with a pair of base hits.
