SET BREAKDOWN
SET 1: To start the match, the Flyers put themselves out front 6-2 by adding on with a four-point run started by a kill by Baggs and ended with a double block by Baggs and Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston). The lead did not stay around for long as a kill by Meyer and Lewis attacking error put the Ramblers within one at 11-10.

A Loyola service error soon after allowed Lewis to go on a returning three-point unanswered run finished with a kill by Roquet to extend their lead back to 14-10.

The Ramblers came within two points at 20-18 after an ace by Van Buren but it wasn't enough to even the score as the Flyers took set 1 at 25-20.

SET 2: The second set did not belong to either side to start as both teams traded points all the way up until a block by McElligott started a three-point run for Loyola to propel ahead 15-12. The Flyers quickly erased the deficit with a three point run of their own as Oguz racked up two kills and an ace to tie the score at 15-15.

Lewis retook control of the set with a dominant five point unanswered run right after finished off with a kill by Morgan to put the Flyers back up 20-16.

A Rambler kill by Fabikovic brought them back to within one at 22-21 but a three point rally for Lewis concluded the set at 25-21.

SET 3: Both teams began set three similarly to set two with the score going back and forth until Loyola capitalized on a 6-1 run to put them up by four at 12-8. Later in the set a kill by Oguz and double block by Baggs and Haber evened the score at 15-15 for the Flyers while a Loyola attack error put them up the point after at 16-15.

The sides took turns with possessions not letting either team jump out ahead comfortably as they went down the final stretch. Back-to-back kills by Roquet brought Lewis at 23-23 but a Lewis serving error gave the Ramblers position to take the set as Fabikovic ended it with a kill to have Loyola win 25-23.

SET 4: Lewis returned to set four using a Loyola serving error and attacking error to go up 3-1 early. Right after the Ramblers went on a controlling 7-1 run which created a 4 point difference at 8-4.

Later in the set a kill by Oguz sparked a 5 point unanswered run for Lewis retaking the lead at 11-10. The Ramblers chipped away that lead as a kill by Van Buren and Lewis setting error put them back on top at 15-14. The Flyers stayed in it and returned with another five point unanswered run finished off with an ace by Haber to retake the lead once again at 19-15.

The deficit was too heavy for the Ramblers to force another lead change as Lewis used that run to win the set with the final score being 25-20.
