HONOLULU -- The Lewis University softball team lost to Hawaii Pacific 4-2 and Ferris State 9-1 in six innings Friday (Feb. 7) to conclude its Hawaii trip.

SUMMARY
Hawaii Pacific jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the opening frame.
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) led the way at the plate after going 2-3 with a pair of singles.
Ariana Trausch (Elk Grove Village, IL/Elk Grove High School) put Lewis on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth after ripping a RBI triple to centerfield which scored
Erica Hoffman (Hebron, IN/Boone Grove High School).
Grace Kmak (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central High School) made it 4-2 Hawaii Pacific after scoring Trausch with an RBI single to right.
Maddie Hessing (Brimfield, IL/Brimfield High School) (0-2) recorded the loss in the setback after pitching allowing four runs (two earned), walking two and striking out one.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) pitched five innings in relief, allowed three hits, walking one and striking out six.

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the third inning after Garden doubled then
Nicole Magdziasz (Tinley Park, IL/Providence Catholic High School) picked up a base hit which scored Garden.
Ferris State responded with a pair of runs of their own in the bottom of the third to make it 2-1 Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs extended its lead in the fourth and fifth frame with a run in the fourth to make it 3-1. FSU tacked on a pair of more runs in the fifth which made it 5-1.
Ferris State was able to walk it off in the sixth inning after putting up a four spot in the frame to win it 9-1.
Garden (1-2) pitched in the circle suffering the setback, giving up nine runs (eight earned), walking none and striking out four.
UP NEXT
Lewis will be back in action Sunday, February 16 as the Flyers take on Roosevelt at the Rosemont Dome starting at noon.
