ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The No. 14 Lewis University men's volleyball team will host the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Quarterfinals on Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. CT at Neil Carey as the Flyers will face Ball State.
The Flyers are coming off a 3-0 sweep against Loyola-Chicago on Thursday, April 10 to secure a top-four spot in the tournament, which guarantees a home game for the quarterfinals. The Cardinals are coming off a 3-1 loss to the Ramblers on April 12.
Lewis finished the regular season 21-8 and 11-5 in the MIVA. The Flyers had five players receive All-MIVA Honors, as
Oguzhan Oguz (Bursa, Turkey/Ocean) was named to the first team while
Frederick Krueger-Beer (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East),
Tyler Morgan (Dike, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford),
Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) and
Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) were all awarded second team.
Ball State recorded a 17-12 overall mark and 9-7 in league play. Three Cardinals were named to the All-MIVA Teams, including outside hitters Tinaishe Ndavazocheva, Patrick Rogers
and opposite Rajé Alleyne.
