#14 Lewis Men's Volleyball Stampedes The Mastodons Thursday; Wins 20th Game of Season

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The No. 14 Lewis University men's volleyball team defeated MIVA opponent Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday night (April 3). This marks the 20th win of the season for the Flyers.

SET BREAKDOWN
SET 1: Lewis 25, PFW 14
The Flyers got off to a 3-0 start with two PFW errors and a Baggs ace. Lewis went on a five point run through the set including two kills by Roquet and a kill by Oguz to make it a 10-2 set.

The set went back and forth for a few plays and ended up with a score 13-8 Lewis. Lewis then went on a six point run started by a kill by Oguzhan with another kill by Fredrick Krueger-Beer, add on four errors by the Mastodons and the Flyers were up 19-8.

Another three point run and a few extra points for the Flyers put them in striking distance, finally a kill from Roquet ended the set giving Lewis the 25-14 victory. 
 
SET 2: Lewis 25, PFW 20
The second set started off in the Mastodons favor and was a closer set then that of the first. Purdue Fort-Wayne held a short lead for the beginning of the set. The score was a steady climb and then Lewis finally took the lead with a three point run with a kill by Baggs, a three man block by Oguzhan, Baggs and Haber and capped off by a Roquet ace making it a 12-9 game.

The game remained close with the Mastodons trailing shortly behind. It went back and forth for numerous plays with Lewis being the first to 20 with a score of 20-16. The end of the set continued to go back and forth each play with a kill by Baggs ending the set with a final score of 25-20. 

SET 3: Lewis 25, PFW 19
The third set started with another exchange of plays with the Mastodons taking a 4-3 lead. The Flyers followed up with a five point run started by a service error by Purdue Fort Wayne with kills by Baggs and Haber and a block by Baggs, Roquet, and Morgan, it was finished by an error from the Mastodons. 

After a quick two points from Purdue Fort-Wayne the Flyers went on a four point run to make it a 12-6 game, this was the final long drive for the Flyers throughout the contest. The Mastodons threw a few more points on the board but the Flyers added the final points on the board. The final three points came off of kills by Oguzhan and Krueger-Beer for the Flyers to claim victory.
