Marion, Ill. -- The Lewis University baseball team lost another extra inning battle during the GLVC Tournament resulting in their elimination from the bracket after loss to Drury Thursday (May 8).

SUMMARY
After a late night finish against UMSL that concluded mere minutes prior to midnight, the Flyers returned to Mountain Dew Park with hopes of getting back on track in the GLVC tournament.
Lewis took the first lead of the game in the second inning scoring one run off of a
Will Bruno (Upton, MA/UNC Pembroke) sacrifice fly to score
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence), who led off with a double down the right field line. The Panthers tied the game in the bottom half of the inning with a RBI single.
Drury took the lead outright in the fourth inning by putting up two runs.
The Flyers fought back in the top of the ninth by first getting
John Henry Russell (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) to pinch run for
Will Bruno (Upton, MA/UNC Pembroke) after his lead off single to right. Russell made his way around the base path and scored on a sacrifice fly from
Tyler Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Parkland CC).
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) scored next after he singled and scored thanks to a single by
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill./UNC-Pembroke).
The Flyers were unable to get any more runs and the Panthers walked off the game in the 11th inning.

The Flyers now await the NCAA selection show and see if they will be placed in the National Tournament.
