AUSTIN, Tx. - The College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday (July 1) that Lewis University baseball player
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill./UNC-Pembroke) is a CSC First Team Academic All-American.
This is the latest award in a string of awards Kocen has earned the past few weeks. Kocen was the GLVC Player of the Year, First Team All-GLVC and the GLVC Scholar Athlete of the Year. He led the league in slugging percentage (.825) and on-base plus slugging percentage (1.319), while ranking second in batting average (.407), home runs (19), RBI (63) and total bases (160).
The Business Management major was named the Midwest Region Player of the Year by the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA), ABCA and NCBWA. He earned First Team All-America from American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Second Team All-America from National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA).
In the classroom he has a 3.67 cumulative GPA and earned Academic All-GLVC, GLVC Council of Presidents Academic Excellence Award, the Delahanty Award and was CSC Academic All-District.
