ROMEOVILLE – Lewis University head men's and women's cross country coach James Kearney announced the newest signings for both programs ahead of the 2025 fall season.
WOMEN
Abigail Burke - A native of Elgin, Ill., Burke has a 17:59 three-mile cross country personal best time as well as being a three-time state qualifier at Burlington Central. She brings a 5:26 1600 meter time and clocked in at 11:47 in the 3200 meter for her best marks in track and field.
Payton Frey - Was a four-time IHSA state qualifier in track and field at Highland, where she was all-state in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:16. Frey also was also a two time IHSA state qualifier in cross country and has a 18:17 three mile cross country personal best.
Emely Galvez - Has a 18:43 three mile cross country personal best and helped Waubonsie Valley qualify for the IHSA state cross country championships as a team in 2024.
Megan Garrett- A transfer from Adams State, Garrett was the 2024 NJCAA national champion in steeplechase and a four time All-American. Garrett was part of the 2024 NCAA national cross country team championship at Adams State as well. She has set personal bests of 2:16 for 800 meters, 4:31 for 1500 meters, and 10:46 for 3000 steeplechase as well as 18:56 for 5k cross country at Adams State as well.
Faith Miller- Comes in with personal bests of 18:30 for three mile cross country and 11:40 for 3200 meters on the track.
Sofia Stoddard- With personal bests of 5:14 for 1600 meters and 11:08 for 3200 meters on the track. Stoddard ran in two IHSA state finals for the Dukes in track and field. In Cross Country, Stoddard was a member of the IHSA state runner up team this past fall and ran a personal best time of 17:52 for three miles cross country.
Hudson Szymonik- Joins Lewis as a three time IHSA state qualifier in track and field with personal bests of 5:13 for 1600 and 11:09 for 3200. In cross country, Szymonik was a 17:54 three mile performer and qualified for a IHSA state championships in high school.
Louisa Wilson- Comes to Lewis with bests of 5:13 for 1600 meters and 11:14 for 3200 meters in track and field. Was a four time IHSA state qualifier for Williamsville in track and field and a 4 time IHSA qualifier in cross country where she collected six state medals. Wilson has a 17:26 three mile cross country personal best and earned two top three finishes in the IHSA Cross Country Championships.
MEN
Brendon Shea - A transfer from Embry Riddle, Shea was the Sunshine State Cross Country Champon in 2023, where he was named two-time all-region. Shea has personal bests of 4:00 for 1500, 8:14 for 3k, 14:15 for 5k, 9:07 for Steeplechase and 24:20 for 8k cross country.
Julian Esquivel – A two time IHSA state qualifier at Joliet West in track and field, Esquivel has personal bests of 1:59 for 800 meter, 4:27 for 1600 meter, 9:48 for 3200 meter and 15:33 for three mile cross country.
Noah Gallivan - Coming in with personal bests of 2:00 for 800 meters, 4:29 for 1600 meters, 9:58 for 3200 meters and 16:29 for three miles cross country after running at Alton High School.
Aidian Haughian – A graduate transfer from Long Island University, Haughian has personal bests of 1:54 for 800 meters, 3:53 for 1500 meters, and 4:14 for the mile.
Jesse Kramer - Six time IHSA state qualifier at Belvidere North High School in both track and cross country. Was the prep top times champion in 2025 in the 1600 meter and IHSA medalist in the 1600 meter outdoors. Has personal bests of 1:56 for 800 meters, 4:10 for 1600 meters, 9:14 for 3200 meters and 15:07 for 3 mile cross country.
Nolan Lamoureux – Was a 2025 IHSA state champion for Lockport Township in the 800 meters and was a member of the state runner-up 4x400 meter relay. Has personal bests of 48.4 for 400 meters and 1:51.92 for the 800 meters.
Ryan Simpao – Joins Lewis with personal bests of 4:49 for 1600 meters, 10:29 for 3200 meters and 15:58 meters for 3 mile cross country.
Camyn Viger – Transferring from Division I New Mexico. The Plainfield South High School product has personal bests of 4:08 for 1600 meters, 8:57 for 3200 meters and 14:18 for three mile cross country. Was a member of the 2022 IHSA state champion for the Cougars and was a two time IHSA state runner up individually.
Evan Wilson - Graduated from Minooka High School with a personal best time of 2:01 for 800 meters.
