Romeoville, Ill. – The Lewis University STUNT team hosted their first home games in program history, facing Trevecca Nazarene and Purdue Northwest Sunday afternoon in Neil Carey Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST TNU
Down 11-3 after two quarters of play against Trevecca Nazarene, the Flyers took the point for the first routine and tied Trevecca Nazarene on the second and fourth rounds of the third quarter.
In the final frame, the Trojans picked-up five points in the second and third rounds compared to two both times for the Flyers with Trevecca Nazarene holding on to win, 30-12.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST PNW
Prior to the contest, the Flyers honored their senior class of
Alyiah Ward (Lemont, IL/),
Grace Botka (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy),
Kelsey Bulthuis (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) and
Christina Rodriguez-Jones (Romeoville, IL/).
The Lions tallied two points in rounds one and three during the first quarter to enter the second stanza with a 5-2 lead. The visitors outscored the hosts 3-1 in the second quarter to enter halftime with a 8-3 advantage.
Lewis and PNW tied in the third with both sides scoring three points across the four routines. The Flyers did strike first, however, nabbing a point in the first routine of the second half. PNW pulled away in the final frame as they tallied four points on two separate routines to seal the 23-14 win.

The Flyers will head to Alma, Michigan from Feb. 28 – March 1 to face Mercyhurst, Alma, Central Michigan and East Stroudsburg over two days.
