Columbus, Ohio - No. 18 Ohio State hit at .500 or better in two of three sets as they swept the No. 15 Lewis University men's volleyball team Saturday afternoon at the Covelli Center.
With the win, the Buckeyes improved to 12-9 (7-6 MIVA) while the Flyers moved to 14-10 (6-5 MIVA).
IMPACT PLAYERS
Shane Wetzel led Ohio State with a game-high 17 kills while Daniel Henwood Rodriguez dished out 32 assists. Wetzel also led the Buckeyes at the net with six total digs. As a team, the Buckeyes posted a .429 (44-11-77) hitting percentage compared to .240 (32-14-75) for Lewis.

Cameron Hoying (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) paced the Flyers with 11 kills with his teammate
Diego Estrada (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Adianez) tallying 29 assists. Hoying also led the Flyers in digs with five.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 1-0 after dropping the first set 25-19, the Flyers attacked quickly to start the second set as they tallied four of the first five points of the second stanza. Still, the Buckeyes flipped the script and embarked on a 7-2 run that propelled them into the lead, 8-6. Both sides traded scores throughout the middle of the set, but a 5-1 run late in the frame gave Ohio State the lead 20-17.
Still, the Flyers had an answer as an untimely service error for the hosts served as the start of a 5-2 run that let Lewis tie the set at 22 a piece. The host Buckeyes were able to escape with the set two win as a Wetzel kill spurrned a short 3-1 spurt that let the hosts win, 25-23 and take a 2-0 match lead.
The Buckeyes sealed the sweep in the third set as they hit at a .550 (12-1-20) clip to win, 25-14.
